Virginia Military Vehicle Association
Jan, 30th 2007
The First Quarterly business meeting was held January 20th at the La Siesta
Restaurant on Midlothian Turnpike. Everyone enjoyed an excellent Mexican
menu and atmosphere. After dinner, the meeting was called to order, and
each individual introduced themselves, although some people had to eat and
run. Events of the preceding year were highlighted - recognizing communications
being a problem, including lacking a secretary and a regular new letter.
The club voted to spend $750.00 on a professional web site designed by Todd
Kallenbach. There was also a vote to formally request the return of property
belonging to the club, which have been stored by non-active members. If
you have computers, equipment, radios belonging to the club - please make
arrangements to return this property. There will be a work day on the M-20
at Barry Conwell’s shop on March 10th as voted.

There was some informal discussion as to the number of people required for
a quorum to vote on the bylaw changes previously introduced. Some argued
that we had a sufficient number - others disagreed. To avoid unpleasantries,
the issue was postponed. All and all, it was a pleasant and productive evening.

On January 28th, a board of director’s meeting was held at Richard
Crane’s house. Richard Crane, Bill Gagnon, and Stan Sitzman were there
in person. Wade McClintock and Doug Haase attended electronically. Fritz
was on his way to Germany... we think.
Several people joined the club after July and according to the bylaws, should
have only been charged ½ of the regular annual dues.
The board voted to refund the following:

Labrador 7.50
Grueninger 7.50
Thompson 7.50
Cannon 10.00

Total $82.50
This gives us a total paid up membership of 25 voting members for 2007.
This is the basis for determining all quorum requirements for the next meeting.
None of the individuals receiving refunds or any individual who has been
active last year and not paid his dues this year will be stricken from our
mailing list at this time. The board also voted to make March 10th (work
day on the M-20) a special business meeting, so that the club may vote on
bylaw changes. The board also decided to divide the web site into two areas
- one area open to the public, and the other open to membership only. The
board decided not to display any photographs of live weapons firing in the
public area.
I want to thank all who attended the club meeting and the board of directors
meeting, and I am looking forward to a great Military Vehicle year.
Respectfully submitted,
Richard A. Crane, President Virginia Military Vehicle Association
