VA Military Vehicle Association Feb. 10th 2006

I’m sending you this letter because time has grown short and the news letter is going to be a little late, and I want to give you as much notice as possible for upcoming events.

Feb. 18th- meeting at Wade’s shop
3776 Anderson Hwy
Powhatan, VA 23139
Please call Wade, and let him know you will be attending:
Work: 598-7535 day hours
Home: 598-3676 evening hours
Cell: 241-7773 evening hours

Lunch will be provided. We will be working indoors (where it’s warm) on the M-20, installing radios, lights and anything else the vehicle needs.

There will be a party/meeting at Stan Sitzman’s house the third 25th and 26th of March; details later.

The Cavalier Rifle and Pistol Club has invited us April 21st, 22nd, and 23rd to Bivowack on the 500 yard range. We are going to make this the Tri-Club event and invite the Intermont and Tidewater Military Clubs to attend. The Cavalier Gun club is going to need our help March 2nd at 7PM at the Hanover County Government center, especially Hanover County residence; Bill Barry, Stan, Waren and myself. As you know, the gun club has had problems with some of its anti-gun neighbors complaining to the county about noise coming from the rifle range. These people belong to the same group who move in at the end of an airport runway and complain about jet noise. Last year, if you remember, we (The VA Military Vehicle Association) promised to support the Cavalier Gun Club in its efforts to win new zoning with the county. Remember, the gun club does not charge us to use their property for our very popular event.
Last week, Don and Tonya Golden, Dale Davis and I attended the ‘68 Tet reunion held at the Radisson Hotel in Hampton, VA. We had a blast! I particularly liked discussing homeland security with Tonya. It was great to hear the commander of the Swift Boat Operations, Vietnam give a first hand account of John Kerry’s conduct in action. When I first joined this club, the Tet ‘68 event was held here in Richmond, and the VMVA was a great supporter. I would like to do this again next year.

Old Business:
We receive our check from Pamplin Park and conformation that they will not be having this event next year.
Best regards to all my friends at the Virginia Military Vehicle Association,

Richard Crane, President
