May 1, 2006

To The Members of The Military Vehicle Association:

If you received this package, you have attended one or more of the several meetings that occurred April 22nd through April 27th of the Virginia Military Vehicle Association. There is some discussion of which meetings were legal and which one’s were not. There fore all relevant information is included about these unhappy events. Several people have suggested to announce the next meeting by just sending out post cards, and pretend this never happened. For the members who did not attend, (many of them are new members) a one page invitation with a meeting agenda will be sent, which will hopefully bring some order to the recent chaos.

Unfortunately, this discussion cannot be postponed until next June. Diane Knapp, our very fine secretary, has tendered her resignation, but with her permission, it will be held until June 4th. It is my sincere hope that those people who offended her and caused her to resign apologize. Do not call her on a telephone; if you wish to express your feelings, or if you appreciate the service she has given tot he club, I would suggest you do it by mail.

On April 27th and 28th, an electronic board of directors meeting was held (to continue the business started on Tuesday) after some discussion, a vote was held by phone. The board of directors of the Virginia Military Vehicle Association passed the following: Authorization of funds for the president to move the M-20 for the VFW Convention and other routine office expense not to exceed $500.00. The vote was as follows:
Don Golden, ok - 6:19PM; Paul Dunnington II, ok - 9:30AM; Wade McClintock, ok - 9:20AM; Bill Gagnon, ok - 11:00PM; Doug Haase, negative - 8:00AM; Diane Knapp, obstane; Richard Crane, ok. Motion Passed.

A very strict agenda has been laid out for the meeting in June to minimize friction and unpleasantries for the greatest number of people. All discussions about this event, the absents of our secretary, the bylaw committee report will be after the treasure’s report, business and event planning. For the membership who is not interested in the frank discussion about bylaws, there will be an opportunity to leave, and there are many who just want to have fun.

Tuesday night at the board of director meeting at Wade’s house, we all pledged cooperation. This club has a great future, and shouldn’t be dissolved by petty bickering.

Sincerely,

Richard A. Crane, President
